This video features a conference call held on March 31, 2020 with LCN leadership & Local Center leaders about how their churches are responding to the COVID-19 crisis. Special thanks to Jonathan Falwell for sharing how pastors can utilize this time to personally connect with their members. Additionally, Nathan Cline, Rob Wetzel and Greg Wigfield led a discussion on how churches need to adapt financially to this new reality. The main discussion points were as follows:
- Evaluate your financial state. Leave no rock unturned.
- If your giving is slowing down, ask yourself why? There are two main reasons people give:
a. Is your church casting a vision about how you are responding to this crisis? Be open and honest about what your church is doing.
b. Are you communicating the needs that your church is meeting? The needs that your church has? - Designated funds may need to be reallocated.
- General liability insurance policies may apply to pandemics. Specifically, look for stoppage in business due to government mandated policies.
- If your giving is slowing down, ask yourself why? There are two main reasons people give:
- Evaluate sources of additional funding that are available to your church.
- CARES Act provides for nonprofits to receive government funding for specific payroll and other expenses.
